
Nura Bassiouni is a motivated high school student based in Georgetown, Texas with a passion for healthcare and public health. She is especially interested in improving health outcomes and expanding access to healthcare for underserved and underrepresented communities. Nura currently serves as Vice President of a HOSA Future Health Professionals chapter with more than 50 members, where she helps prepare students for healthcare careers through competition, service, and hands-on experiences.
In addition to HOSA, she has served as a Black Student Union officer and Secretary of the National Technical Honor Society, developing strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. Nura has completed healthcare-related coursework, including Principles of Health Science, Medical Terminology, and Disaster Response, and has earned certifications in Stop the Bleed, American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR, Take 10 CPR, and OSHA safety training.
Currently, Nura volunteers at the Austin Veterans Affairs Clinic, and participates in the Johns Hopkins Medical Explorers program. She is serving as Public Health Strategy Intern at Raíces Health Strategies. Through these experiences, she is exploring both clinical medicine and public health while learning how to make a positive impact through healthcare and service.
