Growing up in rural South Texas and a daughter of Mexican immigrants, Karla saw firsthand the impact of societal, environmental and economic factors on health. Wanting to make a change and improve the lives of others, she pursued a career in public health.
Nura Bassiouni is a motivated high school student based in Georgetown, Texas with a passion for healthcare and public health. She is especially interested in improving health outcomes and expanding access to healthcare for underserved and underrepresented communities.
